Firm to defend Township in continuing action
Jun 16, 2002-- The Law Offices of John H. Rittley, Esq., was retained by the Township of Readington as Special Counsel to defend against the action brought by RPC, Inc. and Randolph Investors Partnership against the Township's zoning ordinance which governs the commercial area along Route 22. The litigation is currently pending before the New Jersey Supreme Court, with civil rights claims being held in abeyance at the United States District Court, District of New Jersey.
The litigation has been ongoing for several years during much of which, Mr. Rittley was representing the Township. In December 2001, the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, upheld the Trial Court's decision that the Township's zoning ordinance did not violate the New Jersey Zoning Laws.
